Last night, Harrison told me that he has a new theme for a series of drawings. He said that as soon as he is finished with his current theme of "weird creatures", he will be unveilling new work that will take the "weird creatures" theme to the "next level" (artist's quotes). As with most evolving artistic endeavors, it is difficult for him to describe exactly what the work on this next level will look like. From what I gleaned from our conversation, I think we can expect this new series to involve drawings of weird creatures coupled with drawing of weird creatures rendered in dormant, ball-like shapes. Sort of a chicken and egg type concept. These drawing will be diptych-ish, so you'll see the egg or dormant, spherical creature on one side of the page and then the chicken or unballed, weird creature on the other side. Got it? Good. Get ready. I should be posting samples soon.
